Gettin’ My Groove On

Proposal is IN! It’s Party Time!

Just kidding! Last week, I finished my proposal for Zach and Sadie (Mill Town Millionaires Book 4) and got it sent to Awesome Editor. Next in the pipeline is Small Town Secrets Book 2, before Zach and Sadie’s full is due later this year.

But before that, I get to take a week off from writing. I try to do that between projects to “refill my well”. I still do lots of business stuff, but creatively I let myself off the hook.

What do I replace it with? Oh, exciting stuff like cleaning house (it gets really messy on deadline) and watching TV/Movies. I also go on the hunt for new music. As you know if you’ve read my blog for long, music is a powerful fuel for my creativity and each of my characters have “theme” songs.

But after a while, I get tired of what I’ve been listening to and need fresh tunes! So I fill up an iTunes card and go hunting…

iTunes card, music, refill the well,

While I’m refilling the coffers, I’d love for y’all to share some of your favorite music (new or old) with me! I’ll pick 1 commenter to WIN an iTunes card by Friday.

  1. Marvin Gaye by Charlie Puth ,Moves like Jagger , Tim McGraw by Taylor Swift , then country country country !

  2. Lately, my favorite songs have been Wrecking Ball by Eric Church, Masterpiece by Jessie J and Kill the Lights by Luke Bryan. Some old favorites are Dirty Diana from Michael Jackson, Ain’t Nothin Bout You from Brooks n Dunn and Harder to Breathe from Maroon 5

  3. Oh, there is so much good stuff out there right now. If you like country music, I have Kip Moore’s new album–Wild Ones–on repeat. I love him! If you like alternative/rock, I LOVE Hozier’s album. Little Big Town’s new song, Painkiller, is so good. As is The Band Perry’s new song, Live Forever. Jana Kramer’s song, I got the boy, is a heart-breaker. And, Eric Church’s Like a Wrecking Ball is the sexiest song EVER!!!

  4. I love Hozier (especially Take Me to Church), Maroon 5, always love Metallica, and lately I have been loving Nick Jonas (Chains and Jealous).

  5. Lately I’ve been rocking out to country music. Strip It Down by Luke Bryan, Crash and Burn by Thomas Rhett, House Party by Sam Hunt, and many more.

I’m a lover of 70s and disco. Yes, I’m telling my age.

Enjoy your down time aka emptying my head out. I do this at the end of both Spring and Fall semesters.
